For this months Cricut Design Star Challenge I made spider plates with glitter black vinyl. I enlarged a vector file I found of a large spider, set my explore to cut thick vinyl and voila spooky plates! I love that I can remove the vinyl after the party. Because I didn't feel like spending 80 plus on new plates that I just use for one party. I love that cricut has a palette you can work on as well( mine was a plate template) so I don't really have to worry about finding the right size. That probably is my favourite part of this new software. Because then I don't have to worry so much about measuring everything. My next project will have print then cut which I'm stoked to try!
Anyways I'm all about using plates and dished I already own. I firmly believe everyone should have a set of black and white plates. The placemats were bath mats from Targets dollar bin. The centrepiece was manzanita branches I already had in my outside urns I just draped cobwebs and hung cut spiders from the branches. I love this as a halloween theme because I feel that when you add orange it cheapens the look. So If you want more sophisticated of your dinner party this year try using just black and white.
I was compensated for this post with a chance to try out the new explore. All opinions are my own.

My bonus room has been empty for months... Thats right empty. It gets so hot in the summer that we hardly use it. As my kids are getting bigger I'm realizing that we need that space. I need the room to be an office /relaxing watch the TV area as we don't have a designated office space in our house. I knew the sofa would be the biggest piece of furniture in that room so I've been looking high and low for the right couch... It seems that I can never find a sectional or couch thats in the fabric and the color and the style I want all at the same time. Brandon calls me picky I call it patient. I knew I needed something durable for my kids but fashion forward for me. I already have a white couch so I wanted something that was still light and airy and matched the feel of my home but was different than what I already had. Then I heard about the custom upholstery that Wayfair does. I love that it lets me be the designer! I looked between three sofa styles and ended up liking the Carly sofa the best. It was modern but still had a big comfy beachy feel.
So After 4 hours on the website playing with my choices of style and colours and fabric.. It was fun...This is what I ended up putting together... I really liked both of the colours below. The the cream one is called Hilo Flax and the grey is called Lizzy Surf. But I still can't decide.. So I did what any girl would with a friday night to herself and made up two mood boards....Now I need some help which one is your favourite???
